Betsy received her BA in Psychology from Austin College and received her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has always had a special place in her heart for people with children and has been grateful to have been provided early learning and growing opportunities that directed her to the field of occupational therapy. She has been a counselor for 20+ years at a summer camp for teenagers (now adults) with special needs and gotten to work with amazing people. Betsy has several certifications including SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing), Interactive Metronome, The Listening Program, InTime, Beckman Oral Motor and has taken several classes from the Upledger Institute in the Craniosacral Therapy curriculum. She has also partcipated in the Level I mentorship program at the STAR Center in Denver Colorado and was fortunate to learn from Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, OTR/L and Dr. Sarah Schoen, OTR/L. In addition to her work as an occupational therapist, Betsy has several years experience working as an ABA (behavioral) therapist and is happy to incorporate applied behavior analysis techniques as needed. Betsy has experience working with a variety of children with different diagnoses including Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia and other learning and motor disorders. She pulls from all her knowledge and training as she strives to create the most innovative and individualized treatment for her clients. Betsy believes that working collaboratively with families and the team of professionals they choose is key to transforming our potentials and helping our kiddos reach their fullest potential.

Gail earned her BS in Child Development from Texas Woman’s University. She taught preschool for 14 years. During her time as a teacher, Gail worked with children with special needs and wanted to find new ways to assist children and their families, leading her to pursue a degree in occupational therapy. Gail graduated with her Master's in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University at Dallas in 2015. She has experience with integrating sensory diets into the classroom setting, creating accommodations to increase participation in the educational process, and advocating for 504 and special education IEP strategies. She is trained in Handwriting Without Tears, Interactive Metronome, The Listening Program, The Relational Table, and implementing the First Strokes handwriting program with the creator, Jan McCleskey, OTR. Gail has experience working with children with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Integration deficits, Dyspraxia, PANDAS, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, developmental delays, fine motor difficulties, and handwriting delays. Gail enjoys the parent education aspect of outpatient therapy and looks forward to creating relationships with the families at TOP Pediatric. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, hiking, camping, and playing games with her family.

Helen received her BS in Science and her Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has experience working in a hospital and nursing homes. She has worked in schools for most of her career, with knowledge of 504 accommodations, assistive technology, and generating IEP goals. She has knowledge working with learning disabilities, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, sensory processing and sensory diets, cerebral palsy, and dysgraphia. She is trained in Handwriting Without Tears, now called Learning Without Tears.
Megan received her BS in Communication Disorders from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master's of Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman's University. Since completing her degrees Megan has worked with a variety of programs in the school systems serving students with Autism, Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, dysarthria, articulation impairments, and language impairments. Megan absolutely loves working with children with complex communication needs, AAC users and Gestalt Language Processors following a child-led, play-based therapy approach. She strives to help her clients become confident communicators and expand their functional communication skills!
When Megan is not supporting children's communication goals, she loves spending time with her dog Darcie, weightlifting, reading, playing card or board games, and getting outdoors as much as possible! She is so excited to work with the families of TOP Therapy!
Nicole began her journey into occupational therapy first as an occupational therapy assistant, graduating from South College in beautiful Asheville, NC in 2019. Shortly after, she was accepted into the graduate level occupational therapy program at The New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich, RI. During her career I've been fortunate to gain experience in a variety of settings such as outpatient rehab, pediatric sensory clinics, community outreach programs, home health and equine therapy. One of her professional passions is to advocate for inclusive approaches to meaningful and effective mental health support and resources for all ages. She served in the military for about 10 years, and during that time developed an appreciation for how important the mental health scope of practice is for families and individuals alike. She and her husband are fur parents to a rambunctious German Shepard and oversized cat. Nicole is so excited to be joining the team at TOP Pediatric Therapy!
Michelle graduated with her Bachelor’s of Art in Dance from the University of North Texas in 2005 and, shortly thereafter, attended Texas Women's University at Dallas to receive her Master's in Occupational Therapy in 2009. Michelle decided to get into occupational therapy when she was a part of several after school programs and working with children with special needs. She realized she needed more education and specialized training if she wanted to really assist children to their potential. Michelle has several certifications including SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test), The Listening Program, InTime, Interactive Metronome and Handwriting without Tears. Michelle has experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses including ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, PDD (pervasive developmental disorder), Dyspraxia, Sensory Integration deficits and handwriting difficulties. In addition to her work as a pediatric Occupational Therapist, Michelle is also an independent Certified Health Coach. She loves helping people gain Optimal Health and giving them the tools to have Lifelong Transformation. She enjoys dancing, spending time with her husband and three kids, and finding new ways to build community.
Rochelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development and subsequent Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University at Denton. She has experience in working with children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and sensory integration deficits. During her undergraduate studies, Rochelle worked as an occupational therapy technician at an outpatient pediatric clinic utilizing a sensory integration practice framework. She also completed fieldwork in a variety of settings, including Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation at Dallas, Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and Therapy 2000. Following these experiences, Rochelle has a passion for developing creative, collaborative, and individualized interventions to help clients achieve their fullest potential. When not working, she enjoys writing to international penpals and going on walks with her dogs.
Sarah received her B.S. in Psychology frim Abiline Christian University, her M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University and her Master's of Occupational Therapy from Texas Wonam's University. She has spent her career teaching life and relationship skills to couples and teens, conduting research on non-medication ADHD interventions for children, and assisting families in navigating the stormy waters of Alzheimer's Disease. We are excited that Sarah has been on our TOP Team for five years. She has experience working with children who have a variety of needs including sensory integration, attention deficits, learning differences, feeding differences, fine and gross motor delay. She is thrilled to continue her work at TOP and enjoys working with such special families and children.
Shelly Margiotta graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a masters of Speech Language Pathology in 1992. She has worked in rehab, home health, early childhood & school settings with adults and children with varying diagnoses. She is a mother to 3 kids and 2 step kids ranging in age from 16 to 27 years old. She and her family have been part of the North Texas community for 4 years. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, exercising and spending time with her family. She is excited to join the TOP Team and get to work with our amazing TOP families.
